The policy excess is the amount of a claim which you are responsible for before we will reimburse you or provide replacement equipment. This will usually be deducted from your total claim amount if you make a claim.
If you claimed £1000 for a replacement camera lens, and the excess for this is £100, you'll receive £900 as a final amount in your claim.
Theft, Accidental Loss and Accidental Damage
The excess for the above is £100 regardless of your claim total or the amount of equipment you have insured with us. This is a fixed excess, so we won't reduce this if you pay slightly more and similarly, you can't increase your excess and pay a lower premium.
The excess for Public Liability cover (if you choose this as an upgrade) will carry a £500 excess on any claim regardless of the level of cover you choose.
Hire, Personal Accident and Professional Indemnity
If you need to make a claim for the above provisions of cover, there is no excess.
